Every phone policy gets tested in its first week. These are the workarounds schools ask us about most, and what the dashboard shows when a student tries one.
Signing in on a second phone
Dashboard alert: Fake DeviceA new device needs your approval before it counts as the student’s. Until then, the dashboard marks it.
Deleting the app
Dashboard alert: Possible UninstallA phone that stops checking in for about two school days is flagged as a possible uninstall. A confirmed removal shows up as App Uninstalled.
Never installing it
Dashboard alert: Never InstalledA student on your roster without the app gets a reminder email every school day. From your launch date, each school day without it is filed as a violation.
Faking or switching off location
Dashboard alert: Mock LocationLocation services switched off shows up on the dashboard. On Android, a fake-GPS app shows up too.
Each flag carries the student’s name, so the follow-up is a conversation with facts in it.

Follow your local policy and counsel. LockedIn gives you a letter for families, a parent FAQ and a page that explains exactly what the app can see, and families can ask for a copy of their child’s data, or for it to be deleted, at any time. The page for families

Each school is live within a week: a kickoff call, a roster sync from Clever, Veracross, Blackbaud, OneRoster or a CSV, a 30-minute training, the family letter, and launch week with us watching the dashboard. You can start with one campus as a pilot.
