LockedIn is used by students, families and school staff of every ability, and so is this website. This statement covers www.lockedinapp.co: the standard we hold it to, where it falls short today, and how to tell us about a problem.
1. Our Goal
Everyone who comes to this site, whether a principal comparing options, a parent reading what the app can see, or a student setting it up, should be able to find what they need and act on it, with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or voice control.
2. Standard and Status
Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. A site that meets it also meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard the U.S. Department of Justice adopted in 2024 for the websites of state and local governments, public school districts among them.
Every issue our October 2026 review found has been fixed (see Recently Fixed). The site hasn’t yet been audited by an outside reviewer, so until it has we describe it as partially conformant. Anything new we find goes under Known Issues, with the date we plan to fix it by.
3. How We Test
We last reviewed the site on October 22, 2026: automated checks with axe-core on each main type of page, keyboard-only checks of the headers, menus, forms and in-page links, and a sweep of more than 20 pages at 320 pixels wide, the width of a small phone or of a desktop browser zoomed to 400%. We review it again whenever a page is redesigned, and at least once a year.
4. What’s Built In
- A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
- Links, buttons and form fields can all be reached and used with a keyboard, an in-page link takes focus to the section it opens, and the page scrolls the item that has focus clear of the fixed header.
- Pages are built to reflow at 320 pixels wide, the same as 400% zoom, without scrolling sideways; a wide table or a row of news stories scrolls inside its own frame instead.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the site’s animations hold still. Otherwise the looping school scenes have a pause button, and the site remembers your choice.
- Pages are built with real headings, lists, tables and labelled form fields, in English or Spanish as marked.
5. Known Issues
None open today. If you find a barrier, please tell us; we’ll list it here with the date we plan to fix it by.
Documents and videos from other organizations that we link to, such as state legislatures’ bills, a vendor’s price sheet or a news report on our press page, are published by their owners, and we can’t change them. If one doesn’t work for you, ask us and we’ll help you get the information another way.
6. Recently Fixed
Fixed in October 2026, after our review:
- The fixed header could cover a link that had keyboard focus.
- On 320-pixel screens, the header’s menu button was pushed off the edge, and some text on the grants pages was cut off.
- The “In the news” row on phones scrolled on its own, and the animated school scenes had no pause button.
- In-page links scrolled to a section but left keyboard focus behind.
- The five “Copy” buttons on the grants page all had the same name.
- One small label in a sample phone screen was below the contrast minimum.
- The short demo request form (on the homepage and at the foot of most pages) showed a missing or invalid email only with a shake and a red outline, and its label disappeared once you started typing. It now says what’s wrong in words, and the label stays above the field.
- After a request or contact form was sent, keyboard focus stayed where it was; it now moves to the confirmation, so a screen reader announces it.
- Some form field borders, and the hint and error text in the footer form, were lighter than the contrast WCAG asks for.
- The email sign-up pop-up marked every field as invalid when only one had an error. Each field now has its own message.
7. The LockedIn Apps
This statement covers the website. The LockedIn student app, the admin dashboard and the LockedIn Admin app are reviewed on their own. If your school or district needs accessibility information about them for a purchasing review, email us and we’ll tell you where they stand.
8. Report a Barrier
If something on this site doesn’t work for you, or you need information from it in another format, email support@lockedinapp.co or call 310-721-9129. Tell us the page’s address and what went wrong. We reply within two business days.
